BELMONDO Hotel is situated in a privileged location, right across the old Venetian Harbour. The Venetian Harbour is considered one of the most significant historical monuments in the prefecture and a true ornament for the town of Chania. It was constructed by Venetians in order to protect the town from pirate invasions.
It is said that it took them 300 years to construct! The impressive lighthouse can be seen from all hotel rooms.

Rooms with balconies face north, so apart from the top floor do not get any sun, but great when it is very hot! Super breakfasts, different every day, excellent value for money. Beds a bit too firm for my preference. No lift and steps up to reception and the rooms, so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. We had a great stay and didn?t want to leave. Great location; outstanding staff and an excellent breakfast brought to your room, particularly when fried eggs are included. We overlooked the harbour and I never tired of sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. The good thing is when you shut the door, the noise is largely shut out, too. Only real issue was the bed, which was very hard. Prefer a softer mattress. There was also some tape hanging from the bathroom ceiling which was unsightly but not worth making a fuss about. It?s not cheap but not overly expensive and well worth splashing out for a treat or special occasion. We?ll do it again | 5 |

Nothing to mention that you cannot be dropped off by the hotel and it is a good 5-10 minute walk with luggage and lots of people! Lots of steps and stairs and no lift. But it is a lovely hotel in a great location with a great view and, when the staff are around they are very helpful. | 4 |
